"Creating a website can seem like a daunting task with many moving parts.

With Brevity, I wanted everything to be different.

The whole process is designed to be as simple, painless, and transparent as possible. We listen to your needs and provide our honest feedback/recommendations. We are not a company of "yes-men."

After the website is completed, we show you and your team how to maintain the website yourself right in a web browser - no code needed. If you have questions, there will always be someone available to answer you.

I created the company in April of 2013 because I saw that making a website was way too complicated - and dealing with technical people is, quite simply, no fun.

Thanks so much for checking us out and if you think we'd be a good fit for your project, please drop us a line. Thanks and looking forward to collaborating!"

FAQ

  • What is Squarespace - is that something like WordPress? What's the difference?

Squarespace, like WordPress, is a Content Management System (CMS). A CMS allows easy maintenance and management of the website without requiring the tediousness of hand-coding every website tweak. It is almost always best to use a CMS for a website.
Squarespace is the perfect platform for simple needs, such as attractive "brochure" websites, blogging, and basic eCommerce. It has all of the features that small organizations, freelancers, and creatives need to have a strong online presence. Unlike WordPress, Squarespace is hosted for you, comes with 24/7 email support, and there is no need to purchase templates, download plugins, or install security updates. Everything is included for you right from the start and it just works.
A platform like WordPress is very good for larger businesses with more complex technical requirements and desire for customization, though WordPress projects will take more time and cost more money.

  • What will happen with my old website?

Your old website will remain entirely unaffected throughout the creation process. When the new website is done, we will point your domain to your new Squarespace site. The old website will remain stored wherever it is already hosted, but will not be visible to the public.

  • What if I need help with other related services, such as writing content, graphic design, or search engine optimization (SEO)?

We have a variety of trusted referral partners for these needs.

  • Do I need a domain (e.g. mybusinessname.com) beforehand? What about hosting and email?

You may use a domain that you already own, buy a new domain (we recommend GoDaddy), or receive a free domain when signing up for a one-year package through Squarespace. Squarespace hosts your website for you, so you don't need to find a new host. We strongly recommend Google Apps for Work - which is just Gmail, but with no ads and @yourdomain.com. You can sign up for google apps by by clicking here.

  • What is the usual turnaround time, from start to finish?

Once Brevity receives client text content, the new website is usually completed and live within one month.
